Of
course, we do not put the name of the painting, the artist or this
website on top of the reproduced image, like we are doing it on
the online images that we show. We want your reproduction on painter's
canvas to look like a real painting, not like a piece of advertising.
And of course, if you put one of our digital reproductions
next to the original painting, anybody can tell the difference.
But if the original is not arround, most people will believe
that your art reproduction is a real painting.
That may not be an interesting objective in itself,
but it demonstrates how using painter's canvas as a printing material
really gives the art reproduction the texture, the warmth,
the real feeling that paper fails to give. This is especially
true if you can hang it without glass in front of it. You can in
fact easily vaccuum clean it and since it is a lot less valuable
than a real painting it does not really need glass protection.
So, our reproductions are great value for little money,
but you still should know that there are a few limits :
- They are not resistent to moisture, so you
cannot wash them nor even clean them with a moist tissue or something
like that, just like a real watercolor painting.
- They are not resistent to direct sunlight,
so they have to be hanged in a spot where the sun does not reach,
otherwise they might fade quit rapidly, just like a real watercolor
painting.
- They are not always the full size A3 or A2
because that is only possible if the proportions of the original
painting mach those sizes. We have preferred not to cut any paintings
just to match any particular size. So in many cases, the A3 or
A2 canvas will have some border on one side that is not printed.
In
this way also, our reproductions are similar to real paintings.
Just as paintings, they can be nailed on a wooden frame or put in
other types of art frames. they are strong, with 340 grs/m2. But
since they are not as valuable as paintings, you can also just stick
them to a wall if you prefer that.
If you are interested in different sizes, other materials
such as paper or plastic, moisture- or UV resistence,... check our
page on Tailor-Made Reproductions.
