To spread the original, universal and eternal truth, path or law of yoga, which remains forever the same in essence, yet always adapts to the time and place.

Aarti in Hardwar
Aarti in Hardwar - by Pieter Weltevrede

Aarti in Hardwar is a beautiful ceremony that occurs every morning end evening at many places along the banks of the river Ganga. This painting by Pieter Weltevrede is based on a real scene at the Harkipuri Ghat in Hardwar. Dozens of priests make intricate movements with flames while a somewhat chaotic concert of bells and gongs produces a unique athmosphere. At the same time, devotees pray, take a ritual bath in Ganga and let small leaf-boats with candles and flowers take to the current.
