Poster texts :
It gives a short introduction
to the symbolic meaning of Ganesha and of his attributes :
All Tantric and spiritual
worship in the Hindu tradition begins with the invocation
of Ganesha. Acceptance of the strange looking elephant-headed
deity as the
divine force stills the rational mind and it's doubts, forcing
one to look beyond
outer appearances. Thus Ganesha creates the faith to remove
all obstacles.
The conch
represents the sound
that creates Akash.
The laddu
(sweet)
represents
Sattva.
The snakes
represent control over the
poisons of the passions
and refer to Shiva,
father of Ganesha.
The rat
symbolizes the subjugated ego,
especially greed.
The hatchet
cuts away the
bondage of desires.
The mudra
granting
fearlessness.
The broken tusk
with which Ganesha wrote
the Mahabaratha.
It also offers the basic
elements for tantric worship: the Ganesha image, Ganesha yantra
image and Ganesha mantra text.
