In the fourth chakra one experiences
divine fragrances in meditation. Smell ceases to be linked
to Earth and the first chakra, becoming a symbol of the Divine,
carrying a strong emotional impact. In the course of Suddharma
(apt religion), the devotee offers scents to the deity (like
Krishna in this painting), in the form of flowers and/or incense.
The fourth chakra Consciousness creates a change in the body
chemistry so that it ceases to produce bad odors. The devotee
will refrain of using articifical odors on his body, so that
the body odors become a measuring tool of Consciousness. A
person vibrating on this plane exudes a fragrance not unlike
that of lotus flowers or sandelwood.
