The digital watermarking technology used in
all our art images creates an invisible watermark that can
be read on most image editing software, informing anybody who copied
the image that it is copyright protected and leading them to this
page on the sanatan websites that gives further information.
When the image woud be used
on the web, the digimarc is still there and cannot be removed
from the image by cropping, changing the file format, etc... Such
use can be easily detected by a special digimarc software package
that allows to automatically and continuously browse the internet
for any of our watermarked images.
Even if the image would be used
in print, like in a book, magazine or brochure, it is still
easy to prove the copyright origin by rescanning the image from
the book, etc.. at which time the digital watermark can again be
read and the copyright can be proven according to law.
